IBS and a low-carb diet
by Katie Caldesi
I suffered from IBS for probably most of my life. I could never really work out what the trigger foods were; I ruled out dairy particularly yoghurt, gave up gluten, was convinced it was lentils, artichokes, broccoli or nuts. I reintroduced them and noted no change for better or worse. I learned to live with it and despite having tests in hospital was none the wiser. Then I followed a low-carb diet and realised after a few months my symptoms of IBS has gone. I have the occasional episode but generally my intestinal health is vastly improved.
I have since heard from others who have had improvement while following a low-carb lifestyle and I would love to collate more stories to share, do email us on info@lowcarbtogether.com
